Invited & Glad to Be Here

The invitation to return to writing and connecting was so thoughtful and kind.   I am certainly going to try.  It is just that there has been so much from last time to now.   I found my birth mother and birth father.   I have 9 brothers and 1 sister.   I have 7 nephews and 4 nieces.   I lose my birth mother suddenly in June.  My adoptive mother is transitioning to long-term care.  Allyson and I celebrate our 15 year anniversary next month.  Piers is 10 and Meridian is almost 4.   I am a corporate executive leader, whoa! I still garden and read.   I walk more than I run, but I still do both.   I traveled 4 or 5 days a week pre-COVID.   it exhilarates and it can suck majorly.  Many days I feel every day of my age at 47.  Other days, I float
on air.  All is well, but the days are long and the years are short?   Hoping to reconnect!

I'm so happy to see you! We have had so many changes as well, it was nice to get into a good old habit again. I have really missed my LJ family but I just can't deal with the negativity of FB. So glad you are back! <3

It's devastating. We cannot disagree and still be decent humans anymore. I am losing faith in that regard. How are the kids? I cannot believe I have lost touch so deeply. I bet they are grown, OMG!

Kids are doing well. We relocated to Texas three years ago, and have run the gamut from tears, to the joy in finding friends, to boredness and everything in between. But overall, everything is good. Foster turned 19 and moved back to Atlanta; he really never put down roots here as he was a Junior in high school when we moved. He is about 20 minutes away from my parents, so that helps. Carys is 15 and came out to us this year. She is amazingly self confident and has a lot of friends. Kaden is a Senior this year and wants to study Spanish in Spain and become a Spanish professor. That's the kiddos in a nutshell!

The updates - these are amazing children of yours! You know, when I met you and Kevin, I just knew you were special. And now look at how your children are growing and spreading their wings - amazing, amazing, amazing! You know, I work in San Antonio quite often - at least I did before the pandemic. When I head back there, we MUST connect. Ok? Yesssssssssss.

Hiiiiiiiiii! So wonderful to see you here! Life continues apace here. I'm still writing here (cross-posting to LJ) most week days without cease. Some of the darkest times, some of the brightest times, you know. Happy you are here!

It's so good to see your note in my inbox. I do sincerely hope you are well and life has been good to you, Nicole, and the boys. I hope to catch up and do better about keeping in touch - at least here and there! All my best!
